1. Seasonal Schedule – What days are you open? – Check the Home
Page to confirm current information. We are open Thursday –
Monday from Memorial Day to Labor Day and on weekends from
Labor Day through Memorial Day, weather permitting. We are
open Saturdays and Sundays during the month of May and from
Labor day through October 31st. The Mountain is closed from
October 31st to April 30th.
2. Daily Schedule - Please check out the News section to view our Daily Schedule.
3. Misc. Schedule – Will you open weekdays for groups? Yes, we
will open for groups that call ahead and make a reservation for
days that we are scheduled to be closed.
4. I don’t have my own ATV, do you allow riders? - This is not
recommended, and doing so is at your risk. All riders must sign a
waiver form.
5. Dirt Bikes - Can I ride my dirt bike at the Mountain? – Yes you can.
6. Fees - What are your daily fees? – See “Rates” on our Home Page. If
you have a group of 30 or more riders that want to come for a day or a
weekend, call us for special rates.
7. Can I ride alone? - There is safety in numbers and we suggest riders to ride with a partner.
8. Groups - Do you have any group rates? - Yes, we want to encourage
families and groups to ride together. We view that you are safer when
riding in groups. A group must register together and pay in one payment.

9. Camping In General - Do you offer camping? – Yes, we currently offer
primitive camping, including, port-o-johns, but do not have potable water.
We have 25 campsites with electricity in development scheduled for opening
mid-summer 2010. The campsites will accommodate campers and RVs with
electric hookups and have access to non-potable water. These campsites
will be available for seasonal rentals in 2010 (partial season) and 2011 (full season)
10. Camping Cost – What is the cost of camping? – Check
“Camping” on our site.
Rates vary with or without electricity. Sites with electricity are limited, so it is suggested that
you call ahead to reserve a hook up.
11. Camping RVs and Trailers – Can I bring my camper? – Yes we have open
areas that will accommodate campers, motor homes and tents.
12. Annual Pass - Do you offer annual passes? – Yes, for 2010 we offer
passes that run from the date purchased through October 31st. Annual
passes are available for an individual or for a family (see definition of Family
below). For the cost of annual passes, see “Rates” on our Home Page.
13. Annual Pass - Who is included in a family for purposes of an annual pass? –
A family is considered to be parents and their children living in their home who
are under the age of 18.
14. Annual Pass – Can we apply a day pass fee towards an annual pass? –
Yes. If you buy a daily pass, and decide at the end of the day to buy an
annual pass, you can apply the amount paid for the daily fees to the purchase of an annual pass.
15. Lodging - Is there lodging available nearby? – There are a few local motels near the
Mountain and some lovely Bed & Breakfasts. Within a range of 30 miles you will find a variety of
lodging in the Somerset, Bedford and Johnstown areas. Check out the Laurel Highland’s Visitors

16. Food - Do you sell food on site? – We have a concession stand on site, offering beverages and
packaged snacks such as candy bars and chips. Picnic tables are provided. On some weekends and
during events various food vendors may set up on site.
17. Gasoline - Do you have gasoline available on site? – No. There is a gas station/convenience store
located on Route 30 about 1 mile west of Route 160.
18. Supplies – Do you have supplies and repair parts on site? – We have a limited supply of parts
and tools. We will assist you with repairs as we are able.
19. Rentals - Do you have rentals? – NO.

22. Can we come in the night before we plan to ride? – Yes. Contact us to arrange
if you will be late. See separate questions regarding camping. You may not ride until you
have signed a waiver the next morning!!!

24. Directions - How do I get to the Mountain? – Directions can be found from our
Home Page. It is easy to get to the Mountain. If you are coming from the West,
take Rt 281 East from Somerset (Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit) to Rt 30 and go east
until you reach Rt 160 in Reels Corners. If coming from the East follow Rt 30 from
Bedford (Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit), up the mountain and into Somerset County
until you reach Rt 160 at Reels Corners. At Reels Corners go South on Route 160
and look for our sign, approx. 4 miles on the left. Turn left onto Boone Road and
follow the road that turns into a dirt road and leads to our office.
25. Age Requirements – Are there any minimum age requirements for children?
Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian also sign their waiver
form. Individuals under the age of 16 years old must have a parent or guardian on the
trails with them at all times.
26. Utility Vehicles - Are side by sides allowed at the Mountain? Yes, most trails will
allow a side by side to pass through. A few trails may be too tight or rough to take
a side by side and would need to be avoided.
27. Speed Limits – Is there a speed limit? Speed limits on the trails at the Mountain
are not posted as terrain varies greatly. Riders are to maintain a safe and reasonable
speed at all times. Speed limits are restricted in the parking lot, camp ground and high
traffic areas to 5 mph.
28. Mufflers - Are mufflers required? – Mufflers are not specifically required, but we ask
that you be certain to limit excessive noise and meet any state guidelines. We require
spark arrestors (no open pipes).
29. Does my quad need to be registered with the PA DCNR to ride at the Mountain? –
The Mountain supports the rules and regulations of the PA DCNR. However, we are not a
DCNR enforcing agency. We leave registration requirements to the interpretation of our
visitors and refer you to the Pennsylvania Dept. of Natural Resources and their website,
www.dcnr.state.pa.us/snowmobiles.
30. Is insurance on my quad necessary to ride at the Mountain? – We are not an insurance
regulating agency and as a guest signing our waiver form, you take responsibility for insurance
requirements. For questions, we direct you to the Pennsylvania Dept of Insurance consumer
hotline at 877-881-6388. It is stated in the Summary of Pennsylvania’s All Terrain Vehicle Law,
“Liability insurance coverage is required for all ATV’s that are required to have a general registration.
31. I live outside of Pennsylvania, is there anything special that I would need in order to comply
with any state laws or restrictions while at the Mountain? – We are not an enforcement agency
and you can check out Pennsylvania requirements at www.dcnr.state.pa.us/snowmobiles.
You must sign a waiver form to ride at the Mountain and adhere to reasonable safety guidelines.
32. Can I get a copy of your Waiver Form before I arrive at the Mountain? – Yes, go to the link on

33. Helmets - Must I wear a helmet when I ride? – ABSOLUTELY!! Helmets are required to be
worn at all times while riding at the Mountain in any type of all terrain or motorcycle style vehicles.
34. Motocross Track - What is your Motocross track like? Do you have races? – We do not hold
sanctioned races on our track. It is not routinely groomed as would be required for races, but offers a
challenging and fun experience.
35. Is there an age minimum to ride the trails? I have a 9 year old with a small ATV and I need to
know if he will be allowed to ride and if his quad/bike can make it on the easier trails. –
Children of all ages are welcome at the Mountain. We offer all levels of trails to ride. It is your
responsibility to match your child to the age appropriate ATV or dirt bike. An adult must
accompany a child at all times. The American Safety Institute Guidelines regarding motor
displacement size to rider age is as follows:
AGE IN YEARS and QUAD SIZE
6 to 11 Years Old -- 50 CC or LESS
12 to 15 Years Old -- 90 CC or LESS
16 years old and older -- greater than 90 CC
36. Are trails one-way? – Most trails are one way. We have a few access roads running through
the Mountain that are two-way.
37. Do you allow Jeep vehicles? – No we don’t. We have been asked this and are
considering how to offer a separate trail for them.
38. How do we pay once we get to the Mountain? Will someone be there to collect
the money? – Yes. We have an office and accept cash, check and credit card (Visa & MasterCard).
39. How are the parking arrangements? Is there plenty of room to turn a truck
around with a trailer? – Yes. We have a large parking area and can accommodate trailers
and large motor homes.
40. Are there any facilities to wash up after a hard day of riding? – We do not have
water on site at the present time. We are planning to develop a well that will
provide non-potable water for washing off quads and general clean-up. Until then,
plan to bring a jug of water.
41. Is there a place to rent ATV’s and bring them to the Mountain? –
We are not aware of any at the present time that is close to the Mountain.
42. Can the MX track and drag strip be used anytime with regular admission? – Yes,
except during special events and bad weather conditions and if maintenance is being performed.
43. How are your trails for sport quads? – Our trails are marked Green (easy), Blue
(challenging/advanced) and Black (difficult). You should be able to find something
that you like and matches your ability.
44. Can I bring alcohol to the Mountain? – There is ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NO
ALCOHOL ALLOWED ON THE TRAILS. We have a NO-Tolerance Policy on this and
may require you to leave the Mountain with NO REFUNDS.
45. Are dogs allowed? – Yes, but All Dogs must leashed and cleaned up after . They poop you scoop.
